আরও আট হাজার সহকারী শিক্ষক নিয়োগ দেয়া হবে সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে । এ নিয়োগ বিজ্ঞপ্তি আগামী জুন মাসে প্রকাশ করা হবে বলে প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা অধিদফতর (ডিপিই) থেকে জানা গেছে। ডিপিই সূত্র জানায়, সারা দেশে বর্তমানে সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় আছে ৬৪ হাজার ৮২০টি। এর মধ্যে প্রায় ২০ হাজার স্কুলে প্রধান শিক্ষক নেই। সহকারী শিক্ষকের ১৮ হাজার পদ শূন্য রয়েছে।শূন্য এসব পদ পূরণে রাজস্ব খাতে নতুন করে এ আট হাজার সহকারী শিক্ষক নিয়োগ দেয়া হবে। চলমান ২০১৪ সালের স্থগিত নিয়োগের লিখিত পরীক্ষা মে মাসের মধ্যে শেষ করা হবে। এরপর জুন মাসে নতুন করে সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে শিক্ষক নিয়োগ বিজ্ঞপ্তি প্রকাশ করা হবে। জানা গেছে, চলমান শিক্ষক নিয়োগ পরীক্ষার মাধ্যমে ১০ হাজার শিক্ষক নিয়োগ দেয়া হবে। বাকি আট হাজার শিক্ষকের পদ পূরণে জুনে নতুন করে নিয়োগ কার্যক্রম শুরু করা হবে।বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করে প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা অধিদফতরের অতিরিক্ত মহাপরিচালক মো. রমজান আলী বলেন, প্রাথমিক শিক্ষার মানোন্নয়নে বিভিন্ন উদ্যোগ নেয়া হচ্ছে। তার মধ্যে প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষকের শূন্য পদগুলো পূরণে নতুন নিয়োগ কার্যক্রম রয়েছে। ২০১৪ সালের স্থগিত হওয়া ১০ হাজার সহকারী শিক্ষক নিয়োগ কার্যক্রম চলছে। এ কার্যক্রমে আগামী মে মাসের মধ্যে লিখিত ও জুলাইয়ের মধ্যে মৌখিক পরীক্ষা শেষ করা হবে। এ নিয়োগ প্রক্রিয়া চলমান অবস্থায় রাজস্ব খাতে নতুন করে আরও আট হাজার সহকারী শিক্ষক নিয়োগ প্রক্রিয়া শুরু করা হবে।
অধিদফতর সূত্রে আরও জানা যায়, চতুর্থ প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা উন্নয়ন কর্মসূচির (পিইডিপি-৪) আওতায় রাজস্ব খাতে জেলা-উপজেলা পর্যায়ে বিদ্যালয়ের অবকাঠামো উন্নয়ন, অতিরিক্ত শ্রেণি কক্ষ তৈরি ও প্রাথমিক পর্যায়ের স্কুলগুলো অষ্টম শ্রেণি পর্যন্ত উন্নীত করা হবে। এসব বিদ্যালয়ে শূন্য শিক্ষক পদ, প্রয়োজন অনুযায়ী সৃষ্ট পদ ও প্রাক-প্রাথমিক স্তর মিলিয়ে আগামী পাঁচ বছরের মধ্যে সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে দেড় লাখ শিক্ষক নিয়োগ দেয়া হবে।
